Ctenophore, or Comb jelly, so named because of the comb like rows of cilia which the animals use to propel themselves through the water. Although they look very similar to Jellyfish (Cnidaria), Ctenophores actually belong to their own distinct phylum (Ctenophora) which has over one hundred distinct species. Although not amazingly clear in this photograph, the movement of the cilia refract light and result in a moving rainbow travelling down the outside of the animal in waves.
